So.. a capital campaign is always a challenge. Anytime you combine church and finances, people can get nervous. Ok, extremely nervous. However, we believe that it can be a time to reinvest in vision casting and call our church to greater ownership. Finances are a strong indicator of the ownership someone has in anything.
In October, we launched a three-week series titled, “Beyond”. Our desire was to cast a vision for our church to go Beyond Ourselves, Beyond Our Campus, and Beyond Our Borders. It involved a building on campus, launching a satellite campus in the Green Valley area of Las Vegas, and invest financially in organizations fighting human trafficking locally and around the world.
The three weeks were designed to walk backwards from the past, to the present and the future. Our metaphor and takeaway was a baton, signifying the need to handoff strongly to the next generation and the next initiative.
Each week we presented stories of life change and highlighted seasons of the churches 15 years. This was accomplished through video and the use of chairs which represented each era.
Couch: Launch Meetings
Blue Folding Chair – Portable Season in Schools
Padded Chair – First Move on Campus
Theater Seating – New Auditorium
The desire was to help people see the progression we have taken and where we are compelled to move forward.
